Rich and dark, with native leaves and berries for a spicy, peppery kick.

The horopito & kawakawa are ground with the 66% cacao Papua New Guinea chocolate for a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Horopito and Kawakawa have long been used in traditional māori medicine, and there is growing scientific evidence of their medicinal value. Historically, Horopito has been used for stomach pains. Indigestion, as well as stimulating blood circulation, but new uses are being found all of the time. Horopito has a pepper like taste which led early colonisers to give it a common name; the pepper tree.

Kawakawa is a versatile plant that can help with a range of issues from skin, wounds and bruising, respiratory, gastrointestinal and oral issues. Kawakawa has big beautiful heart shaped leaves and is being more widely used in things such as skincare and teas.

At my age my sense of smell and therefore taste, is waning.Id appreciate more intense flavour. That's why I remelt chocolate and add chilli, lavender and other flavours such as tumeric with black pepper. Mind I'm mostly doing that with honey right now.
